Reflections on Last Night’s Tough Loss

Hey everyone,

Last night was a battle. I know many of you were right there with us, feeling every hit, every play, and every opportunity. Facing a highly-ranked team like SMU, we knew it was going to take everything we had. And man, this team left it all out on that field.

We fought back from being down 21-7, clawing our way back into the game, and our defense gave us every chance, forcing six turnovers. I can’t say enough about the heart those guys showed out there, especially Kendy Charles with his 11 tackles. The goal-line stand that stopped SMU in their tracks—that’s the kind of resilience that defines this team.

Maalik Murphy had one of his best games yet, and Eli Pancol was just everywhere, making those key catches when we needed them most. It was tough to see the blocked field goal at the end. But football’s like that sometimes; things don’t always go your way, even when you’ve earned it.

Coach Diaz told us, “You don’t always get what you deserve.” But we know that a game like this can bring a team closer. It shows where we can improve and, more importantly, shows the heart of this team.

Our season’s not over. We’re looking ahead, determined to make every game count. I’m grateful for every single fan out there pulling for us, and I promise we’re coming back stronger.

Thanks for all the support. Let’s finish this season the way we started it—together, with everything we’ve got.

-Terry
